Description
Siteless 1001 Building Forms presents an open-ended compendium of visual ideas for the architectural imagination to draw from. The book features 1001 building forms, including structural parasites, chain link towers, ball bearing floors, and other innovative designs that challenge conventional thinking.
Author Francois Blanciak's unique approach liberates architects' minds from site, program, and budget constraints, resulting in a collection of freehand drawings that showcase a wide range of architectural ideas. With no scale or order to the series, Siteless 1001 Building Forms is a visual feast for anyone interested in architecture.
Published by MIT Press in 2008, this book provides a discursive container for innovative ideas that would otherwise be lost. It is a new kind of architecture book that seems to have come out of nowhere, offering a fresh perspective on the discipline.
