Description
The Jewish Dog by Asher Kravitz is a unique and thought-provoking novel that explores one of the darkest periods in modern history through the eyes of an unlikely protagonist - a dog. Born into a German-Jewish household, Caleb, the dog, witnesses the rise of Nazism and the Holocaust firsthand, leading to a poignant and humorous exploration of humanity, loyalty, and identity. As Caleb navigates his way through the treacherous landscape of war-torn Europe, he finds himself employed by the SS as a military dog. This unusual perspective offers a fresh insight into one of the most tragic events in human history, raising questions about what it means to be human and the fine line between humanity and animals. Through Caleb's philosophical musings, Kravitz presents a powerful commentary on politics, degradation, and the complexities of loyalty and identity. A deeply ironic and humorous novel that challenges readers to think differently about one of the most significant events of the 20th century.
