As the winds shift, they can also blow from the east and west, with the eastern winds being particularly piercing. The western winds, however, are strong and boisterous, capable of summoning fierce squalls that can uproot trees and dash ships to rocky shores. Snowfall in spring is also a common occurrence, with the heaviest storms typically arriving in February. For sheep farmers, these storms can be particularly devastating, causing significant losses to breeding flocks and lambs. However, by providing extra food for sheep during these periods, farmers can mitigate some of the damage and protect their livestock.
