Description
Angus Calder's poems capture the essence of Edinburgh as a city that exists beyond the summer tourist season. Instead, it is a place where misty mornings and grey stone buildings come alive with the sounds of seagulls and pigeons, and the smell of coarse sportsmen on the Meadows.
This collection of poems offers a unique perspective on the city, one that is both deeply rooted in its history and culture, yet also open to the present day. Angus Calder's writing is infused with his own experiences as a writer and activist, giving this book a sense of immediacy and authenticity.
