Description
Strangely Happy is a poignant collection of poems by Joan Margarit, translated from Catalan. Margarit's poetry confronts the harsh realities of life with unflinching candour, yet it is also infused with warmth and humanity. In this work, he builds an architecture of the human spirit out of the unpromising materials of self-doubt, despair and death. Through his stripped-down yet powerful verse, Margarit grapples with old age and mortality, finding a way to connect with those who have passed on. This is a moving and deeply affecting work that will linger in the mind long after the final page has been turned.
