Description
Antonio Escohotado, nearing eighty years old, decides to leave his home and family in Madrid and retreat to a cabin on the island of Ibiza for his final days. Believing one of the most intelligent men on earth holds the secret to life's meaning and the soul's immortality, journalist Ricardo F. Colmenero poses as a marijuana trafficker and chess player to gather Escohotado's remains. The result is a fascinating account of Escohotado's extraordinary life, which spans multiple careers, relationships, and experiences. From his time with various communist groups to his involvement in the pharmaceutical industry, Escohotado's story is one of contradictions and paradoxes. This book offers a unique insight into the life of a remarkable individual who defied conventions and lived life on his own terms.
