Description

Jules Verne's Journey to the Centre of the Earth is a story of adventure and discovery. In 1864, German professor Otto Lidenbrock embarked on a perilous journey to the centre of the Earth, accompanied by his nephew Axel and their guide Hans. Their expedition took them deep into the Icelandic volcano Snæfellsjökull, where they encountered prehistoric animals and natural hazards, before emerging in southern Italy at the Stromboli volcano.

This beautifully bound edition of Journey to the Centre of the Earth features illustrations by Édouard Riou, a French painter and illustrator who worked with Verne on six novels. The Macmillan Collector's Library edition also includes an Afterword by Ned Halley, providing a unique perspective on this iconic tale of exploration and discovery.
