Description
Joe King Oliver was once one of the NYPD's finest investigators. However, his career was cut short when he was framed for assault and sent to Rikers Island prison. A decade later, King is running his own private detective agency with the help of his teenage daughter, Aja-Denise. When a card arrives from the woman who admitted to being involved in his framing, King knows he has no choice but to take on his own case: uncovering the identity of those who framed him and why. This investigation is complicated by another case - that of Leonard Compton, a black radical journalist accused of killing two police officers who were abusing their badges to traffic drugs and women into the city's poorest neighbourhoods. As King delves deeper into both cases, he must navigate a web of corruption and deceit, with two lives hanging in the balance: Compton's and his own.
