Description
Darius the Mede: A Reappraisal by Steven David Anderson is a scholarly work that challenges mainstream views on the biblical figure of Darius the Mede. The author argues for the historicity of Median king Cyaxares II, who is described in detail by the Greek historian Xenophon and bears striking similarities to Daniel's Darius. This book offers a fresh perspective on the biblical account of Daniel, proposing a solution to the long-standing scholarly impasse surrounding the identity of Darius the Mede. By examining extrabiblical sources, Anderson seeks to break new ground in understanding this enigmatic figure. With 172 pages of detailed analysis and research, Darius the Mede: A Reappraisal is an engaging read for those interested in biblical studies and the history of the ancient Near East.
