Description

At a railway station, everyday dramas unfold: meetings, partings, anticipations, and escapes. The atmosphere is a complex mix of tension and contemplation.

The photographs in this book were taken at Manchester Piccadilly and St Pancras International stations, where they capture the unique atmosphere of these public spaces.

Commissioned by Artangel and Manchester International Festival, Audio Obscura explores the idea of the camera obscura, a device that projects a reflection of the passing world. This book extends this concept to the act of listening, revealing unconscious aspects of perception.
