Description
Alicia's story begins in 1935, when she was just five years old. Living in East Polish town Buczacz, Alicia grew up in an atmosphere of anti-Semitism. However, nothing could have prepared her for the Russian invasion of Poland and the horrors of the Nazi Occupation. At thirteen, Alicia fled through the forests and fields of Poland, rescuing other Jews from the Gestapo's grasp. Her bravery was not limited to her youth; she risked her life again at the end of the war, leading survivors from Poland to Palestine through an underground route. Despite losing her parents and four brothers in the Holocaust, Alicia's capacity for heroism shines through. This remarkable story is a tribute to courage and determination, telling the tale of one young woman who survived the horrors of war-torn Europe.
