Description

A collection of profound and practical teachings from Yoshin, abbot and founder of the Ithaca Zen Center. This book is a compilation of 31 talks given at Sunday morning sittings, delivered during a time when Yoshin's health was severely compromised by end-stage renal failure. The talks were given just before Yoshin received a kidney transplant in February 2019, to whom the publication is dedicated. The collection offers insight into the individual dharma talks and the underlying story of how the teachings helped Yoshin cope with his illness. Through these talks, readers can see how Yoshin put the wisdom to use in his own life situation and how they can do so as well. This book provides a unique glimpse into the comfort and guidance that the dharma offers during difficult times, and is a testament to the enduring power of spiritual teachings.
