The story of 610 Squadron, formed in 1936, is one of bravery and sacrifice during World War II. From its early days as a bomber squadron to its later role as a fighter unit, the squadron played a significant part in the war effort.

With its personnel recruited from the local area, the squadron was moulded into a cohesive fighting unit, but its history remained largely unknown until now. This book brings together a range of sources, including Operations Record Books, Combat Reports, pilots' Log Books, ground crew and relatives' testimonies, to tell the squadron's heroic story for the first time.

Featuring many unpublished photographs from the Squadron's Association, this book provides a unique insight into the lives of the men who served in 610 Squadron, and their contribution to the war effort.
