Description
Claire Marie Stancek's wyrd] bird is a deeply personal and philosophical exploration of mystical experience in the face of ecological and individual loss. This book-length lyric essay deconstructs Western notions of good and evil by re-examining key poetic texts, including those of Hildegard of Bingen. Through a unique blend of poetry, prose, and visual ephemera, Stancek searches for an expression of visionary experience that remains rooted in the body. The result is a complex and thought-provoking work that challenges readers to question their assumptions about the world and their place within it.
