Description

WWW Drawing: Exploring Architectural Drawing in a Digital Age This book documents a unique project that brought together renowned architects and artists to explore the role of hand drawing in architecture. A giant-scale hand-drawing workshop was held, accompanied by a symposium at the Drawing Center in New York, featuring contributions from Michael Webb, Mark West, James Wines, Daniel Cardoso Llach, Andrew Heumann, Jürg Lehni, Jane Nisselson, Seher Shah and Ann Tarantino. The project delves into the possibilities of computer-generated drawings emulating the nuances of hand drawing, as well as the legacies of contrasting ideologies in early computer-aided design. The book presents a range of perspectives on contemporary architectural drawing, including technology as an expressive vocabulary and drawing as live performance. Through this research and creative exploration, WWW Drawing offers a fresh perspective on architectural drawing, highlighting its potential in both analog and digital forms.
