Description

Writing Home: The 'New Irish' Poets brings together over 50 poets from diverse backgrounds to explore the concept of home. From India and Italy to Poland, Pakistan, Canada, and Ireland, these poets present an updated picture of a changing country while expanding our understanding of writing from Ireland. The poems gathered here are varied and lively, reflecting different approaches to 'writing home'. Some describe their experiences in new places, while others use writing as a means of self-definition. One thing unites them is the sense that writing can be a form of home-building, particularly at a time when borders are under threat. This anthology offers a unique perspective on the complexities of identity and belonging, inviting readers to consider what it means to 'write home' in their own lives.
