Description

Words on Bathroom Walls by Julia Walton Adam's life is a balancing act. He navigates high school with a mind that often plays tricks on him. His hallucinations are a constant presence, ranging from the good to the bad and the just plain weird. To cope, he turns to an experimental drug that promises to help him hide his illness from the world. As Adam meets Maya, a fiercely intelligent girl, he desperately wants to be the normal, great guy she thinks he is. But when the miracle drug begins to fail, how long can he keep this secret from her? This frank and inspiring novel echoes the premise of Flowers for Algernon, offering a thought-provoking exploration of life with paranoid schizophrenia. With its uplifting and surprisingly funny tone, Words on Bathroom Walls is a story that will resonate with fans of More Happy Than Not and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
