Description
D. H. Lawrence's Women in Love is a novel that has undergone significant changes over the years, with many errors accumulated during its revision and publication. This edition, edited by scholars in England and America, presents the text as it was originally intended by the author. The book includes the 'Foreword' written by Lawrence in 1919, as well as two preliminary chapters that have been the subject of much critical discussion. A detailed introduction provides a history of the novel's composition, revision, publication, and reception, while notes explain allusions and references throughout the text. The textual apparatus records variants between the base-text and the first printed editions. This edition offers readers the opportunity to experience Lawrence's work as it was originally conceived, with thousands of errors cleared from the text.
