Description
In 61 AD, the Roman province of Britannia was a hotbed of rebellion and resistance. The midland Coritani tribe, led by their treacherous queen Cartimandua, struggled to maintain independence in the face of Roman occupation. As tensions escalated, Rome offered client kingship to the ageing Coritani king Volisios, sparking a bitter divide among his sons. The story unfolds against the backdrop of growing unease over Rome's intentions and the Druidical stronghold on the Isle of Anglesey. Amidst this turmoil, a young Greek slave named Straba witnesses the unfolding events with dogged determination. As loyalties are tested and eventual betrayal looms, Straba finds himself caught between two worlds. Set against the majesty of Rome and the half-built townships of a volatile Britain, this tale culminates in the bloody rebellion led by Boudiga, warrior queen of the Iceni.
