Description

Willy's Pictures by Anthony Browne is a unique and entertaining art history lesson for children. The book features Willy's own artwork, which looks like great works of art but have been subtly altered to include himself and his friends in famous paintings by renowned artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Vermeer, and Manet. The illustrations are presented alongside the original artworks, allowing readers to compare and contrast the two. As Willy notes, every picture tells a story, and this book is no exception. By exploring these famous works of art through Willy's creative lens, children can gain a new appreciation for the artists who created them. By combining engaging artwork with interesting historical context, Willy's Pictures makes for an enjoyable and educational read.
