Description

The body of Josslyn Hay, Earl of Erroll, was discovered in his car on a road outside Nairobi in January 1941. A bullet wound to the head suggested that Sir Henry Delves Broughton had a strong motive for the murder, but no one was ever convicted. This infamous case became a source of fascination for many, including journalist Cyril Connolly and author James Fox. In the 1960s, Connolly investigated the case with Fox for the Sunday Times magazine, and after Connolly's death, Fox continued to pursue the story in England and Kenya. A breakthrough discovery on a veranda overlooking the Indian Ocean finally brought together the fragments of the case. The resulting book is a detailed account of the events surrounding Josslyn Hay's murder, drawing on extensive research by James Fox.
