Description

Roni Horn: Wits' End by Michelle White Roni Horn's silkscreens of crowdsourced clichés and colloquialisms celebrate the instabilities of the vernacular. In this latest series, she takes handwritten idioms, phrases and expressions as her source material. Approximately 300 people contributed to the creation of these unique works. The resulting drawings engage with the "moments when language fails and connotation migrates," revealing a fascination with instability and movement. This seventh book in Roni Horn's series offers a new perspective on the power of language and its relationship to meaning. Wits' End is published by Hauser & Wirth Publishers, following previous titles such as bird (2008) and aka (2010).
