Description
The British 14th Army: A Story of Sacrifice and Victory in Burma 1941-45 In one of the most overlooked chapters of World War II, nearly a million-strong British soldiers fought against overwhelming odds to conquer Japanese forces in Burma. Despite being last in line for reinforcements and equipment, these troops persevered, ultimately breaking through into India after years of grueling combat. The monument at Kohima bears testament to their sacrifice: "When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Their Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today." This poignant tribute serves as a reminder of the bravery and resilience displayed by these soldiers, who were often referred to as "The Forgotten Army." Their story is one of remarkable courage and determination, set against the backdrop of a pivotal moment in history.
