Description
Warlord by Seoras Wallace is a historical account of the tumultuous period in Scotland's history. In 1266, Edward Longshanks prepares to invade France and forcibly recruits many Scots into his army. Bishop Wishart of Glasgow seizes an opportunity to drive the English out of Scotland, sending a delegation to England with ransom money to free Andrew Moray. The plan is set in motion when Wallace attends the meeting, reuniting with his friend Moray. However, their efforts are soon thwarted by unexpected events in Lanark, where the son of the English sheriff becomes infatuated with Marion Braidfuite, Wallace's wife. This sets Wallace on a path to exact revenge against Lord Fenwick, who is responsible for the murder of his bond uncle. Wallace knows that taking action will have no turning back, and he must claim "the Blood Tax". This gripping historical narrative explores the complexities of loyalty, duty, and survival in 13th-century Scotland.
