Description

Vulgarian Rhapsody by Alvin Orloff is a darkly comedic tale of San Francisco's fabled queer bohemia in the late 20th century. When Harris, a gay barfly, loses his apartment due to a heated argument with his roommate Maxine, he must navigate the city's dwindling affordable housing options.

As Harris struggles to find a new place to live, he faces a series of absurd misadventures with his eccentric friends and acquaintances. With its sharp wit and ironic eye for the absurd, this novel offers a refreshing antidote to more conventional coming-of-age stories.

With its vivid portrayal of San Francisco's queer underground in the 1990s, Vulgarian Rhapsody is a hilarious and acidic comedy of manners that will appeal to readers looking for a unique and unapologetic voice.
