Description

Ron Jude's 'Vitreous China' is an archive of photographs capturing the ambient zones surrounding industrial environments in Midwestern American cities. These images depict secondary spaces, such as parking lots and side exits, which serve as a backdrop for Jude's exploration of the human experience. By focusing on the atmospheric qualities of these spaces, Jude creates an immersive experience that blurs the lines between fact and subjectivity. The photographs are accompanied by short texts that tease out the complex relationships between memory, narrative, and the physical environment. This book presents a unique perspective on the intersection of industry and human experience, inviting readers to engage with the intricate relationships between space, memory, and perception.
