Description
Victoria's Knickers by Josh Azouz tells the story of an unlikely romance between the Queen of England and a boy from the wrong side of the tracks. On the eve of her coronation, Victoria is having a bath when Edward 'The Boy' Jones falls out of her chimney for the second time. The play premiered at Soho Theatre in October 2018, performed by the National Youth Theatre and directed by Ned Bennett. Set against the backdrop of an uncertain England, Victoria's Knickers is an epic romcom that explores passion, violence, and power struggles. With original songs from Chris Cookson, the play offers a fresh take on history, blending humour with an anarchic heart and razor-sharp wit. This play is a unique and engaging tale that challenges conventions and pushes boundaries.
