Description
Ned Denny's new collection, Ventriloquise, delves into the depths of human experience, exploring the void left by the departure of the gods and the rise of a technocratic world. Through his adept voice, Denny navigates the iron age, seeking glimpses of nature's saving radiance.
With references to a range of literary and cultural touchstones, including works by Heine, classical Chinese poets, Pindar, Ronsard, Hölderlin, Mallarmé, Victor Hugo and Lorca, Denny's poetry offers a unique perspective on our modern world. His words 'throw' themselves into the abyss, revealing the lost gods' traces and the indestructible delicacy of nature.
This powerful collection recalls the poet's role as seer and witness to the world's night, and the coming dawn that promises a new era. Ventriloquise is a thought-provoking exploration of our times, one that will resonate with readers seeking poetry that challenges and inspires.
