Description
Uptown and Downtown Old Skool Paintings on NYC Subway Maps by Alan Bortman is a unique collection of graffiti art that brings together the work of influential New York City writers from the 1970s and 1980s. Using transit maps as canvases, these artists transformed their signature tags and graphics into permanent, collectible pieces. The book features sixteen sections, one for each writer, showcasing over 100 maps in total, along with brief statements about the artists' evolution and style. This exclusive sampling of graffiti art offers a glimpse into the dynamic world of train-tagging and its connection to the international art gallery circuit.
