Description
The Unity of Isaiah A Study in Prophecy by Oswald T. Allis This study explores the predictive character of biblical prophecy, examining how it is presented in the Old Testament. Professor Allis argues that the account of prophecy emphasizes its predictive element, as seen in passages such as Deuteronomy 18:9-22. Allis challenges prevailing tendencies to downplay the predictive nature of prophecy, instead advocating for a more nuanced understanding of its role in biblical narrative. By examining selected prophecies from Isaiah and other Old Testament books, Allis seeks to clarify the significance of prophecy in the biblical text. Through his analysis, Allis aims to provide a deeper understanding of the unity of prophecy in the Bible, shedding light on the ways in which it shapes our understanding of God's word.
