Understanding Spiritual Gifts

Understanding Spiritual Gifts: A Comprehensive Guide to God's Gifts in the Body of Christ. Spiritual gifts are an integral part of Christian living and ministry. Despite their importance, there is often confusion about their nature and how they function within the body of Christ. This guide helps to clarify these misconceptions and addresses the tendency to downplay the significance of spiritual gifts for everyday life and ministry. Sam Storms explains that spiritual gifts - both extraordinary and ordinary - are given by God to build up the church, encouraging, edifying, strengthening, instructing, and consoling one another. The purpose of these "manifestations of the Spirit" is to facilitate an ever-increasing transformation into the image of Jesus Christ. This guide serves as a valuable resource for addressing common questions about spiritual gifts, while also providing a training manual for using and exercising the gifts in ministry. It is suitable for individuals or groups seeking to deepen their understanding of spiritual gifts and their role in Christian living today.
