Description
The story of U-111 Exposed is one of intrigue and discovery. In 1989, Gentile revisited the case of this lost German U-boat, which had been documented at a depth of 1,596 feet. Despite not being able to dive to such great depths himself, Gentile included it in his research on shipwrecks. Over the years, Gentile's work on sunken U-boats and submarines has led to numerous discoveries, including eight German warships that were scuttled by naval gunnery or aerial bombardment. The U-111 remained elusive until now, when Gentile brings its convoluted saga to light through extensive documentation and first-hand accounts. This book provides a detailed account of the U-111's background, discovery, location, and eventual identification, shedding new light on this fascinating piece of World War I history.
