Description
Trilce is a landmark work of 20th-century poetry that continues to push boundaries with its innovative language and experimentation. This acclaimed translation by Michael Smith and Valentino Gianuzzi presents the original Spanish text alongside the English version, allowing readers to appreciate the nuances of Vallejo's unique style. The book includes an appendix featuring earlier versions of ten poems and an uncollected poem related to Trilce, as well as a previously untranslated preface from the first edition. This additional material provides valuable context for understanding the composition and reception of this influential work of modern poetry. All 20 poems in Trilce are presented in bilingual form, making it easier for readers to engage with Vallejo's complex and often obscure language.
