From its humble beginnings in 1907, the company rose to prominence, with Rem Fowler's win at the inaugural Isle of Man Tourist Trophy marking the start of a remarkable 34 victories at the challenging circuit. The 'works' riders, including Guthrie, Woods, Hunt, and Simpson, left an indelible mark on the racing scene. As the years passed, new names emerged, and the greatest riders of their time, such as Bell, Duke, Surtees, and others, dominated the circuits. However, by the 1960s, Italy's multi-cylinder designs had taken over, and it seemed that Norton's glory days were behind it. Yet, in 1961, the company experienced a brief resurgence, thanks to Mike Hailwood's Senior win and Phil Read's Junior victory at the TT. This book tells the story of Norton's remarkable journey, from its early successes to its later struggles and ultimate revival.
