Description
A Central Asian teaching-story about a society where rationality turns in on itself, this tale tells of a city where authority is accepted in any shape or form. A melon is crowned king after a series of events that highlight the absurdity of its people's willingness to accept leadership without question. The story has been a firm favourite with children for centuries, and its lessons can be experienced on many levels. Idries Shah collected this tale as part of his collection of Sufi stories, which often blur the line between tales for children and those for adults. With beautiful illustrations, this children's book aims to engage young minds through creative learning, encouraging readers to think critically about the importance of rationality in society.
