Description
The Princess and the Prick by Walburga Appleseed is a humorous feminist retelling of familiar fairy tales. Sleeping Beauty's story is turned on its head as she finally gets to speak for herself, revealing the sexism that lies beneath the surface of these childhood classics. In this witty and irreverent book, the traditional heroines are given their say, with a sharp tongue and a healthy dose of sarcasm. The result is a fresh and humorous take on nursery rhymes and children's books that will make you laugh and think again about the stories we grew up with. A great choice for anyone looking to revisit childhood classics with a modern twist, this book is sure to appeal to fans of satire and humor.
