Description
The Present Preacher offers practical guidance for those seeking to develop their preaching skills. By focusing on being attentive to God and the world around them, preachers can create authentic connections with others.
This confidence-building guide encourages preachers to 'show up and be present' in their ministry, rather than speaking in a role or taking on a spokesperson's persona. It provides insights into developing the habit of noticing God in the world, strategies for opening up new meaning in familiar Bible texts, and ways of understanding what influences both the congregation and one's own theology.
Based on the authors' experience training ordinands, the book includes sample sermons that embody these principles. With its focus on practicality and authenticity, The Present Preacher is a valuable resource for anyone looking to improve their preaching skills.
