Description
The Pleasure Ground Poems 1952-2012 by Richard Murphy A comprehensive collection of poems by one of Ireland's most distinguished poets, spanning over six decades. This expanded edition includes new poems alongside an appendix featuring illuminating commentary on the historical and personal background of some of his most notable work. Richard Murphy was a key figure in the Irish poetic renaissance of the 1950s, known for his classical rigour and 'unvarnished' clarity in drawing on the people and history of the west of Ireland. The collection showcases his unique style and explores themes that are both deeply personal and historically significant.
