Description
The Plaster Fabric by Martyn Goff is a novel that tackles a delicate subject with earnestness and sensitivity. Published in 1957, it was a daring work that risked prosecution for its frank treatment of gay themes. Against this backdrop of societal hostility and personal danger, the story unfolds as Laurie Kingston navigates his complicated relationships and struggles to maintain a fragile facade. A chance encounter with Tom Beeson sets off a chain of events that threatens to expose Laurie's secret and destroy everything he has built. As the fabric of Laurie's life begins to chip away, he is forced to confront the consequences of his actions and the true nature of his feelings. This is a powerful and thought-provoking novel that explores the complexities of human relationships and the devastating impact of societal pressure on individual lives.
