Description

The North Hollywood Shootout by Scott K. Murphy is a true crime account of one of the most violent police shootouts in modern American history. On February 28, 1997, two men, armed with over 3,000 rounds of ammunition and five rifles, attempted to rob a bank in Los Angeles. Their plan was to enter the bank, scare employees and customers, neutralize security guards as needed, break into the vault, steal money, and escape within eight minutes. The ensuing 44-minute shootout would prove to be one of the most intense and deadly police battles in recent US history, with both law enforcement officers and suspects suffering severe injuries. This book provides a detailed and gripping account of that fateful day.
