Description
The Maindy Flyers: A Story of Passion and Success in Cycling This is the remarkable story of The Maindy Flyers, a cycling club that has nurtured some of the world's most talented riders. Despite humble beginnings with minimal funding and equipment, the club's coaches created an unbeatable team spirit that attracted children from across Cardiff who shared their passion for cycling. The book reveals the struggles and difficulties faced by the club as it set up and maintained itself, but also explains how it overcame many challenges to become one of the world's most successful cycling clubs. With over 100 photographs, including many previously unseen images, this is a worthwhile read for anyone interested in cycling, particularly coaches and leaders of junior cycling clubs. Written by Juan Dickinson with the full co-operation and support of the club, The Maindy Flyers offers a unique insight into the world of competitive cycling and provides valuable lessons for those looking to establish their own cycling clubs.
