Description
The Magic Door: A Study on Myth, Magic, and Metamorphosis in the Italic Hermetic Tradition. This book explores the esoteric traditions of Italy, tracing the evolution of myth, magic, and metamorphosis from Roman times to the present day. The author delves into the heroes, schools, and teachings that have shaped initiation in Italy, revealing a rich tradition of spiritual practice. At its core, initiation is a journey of self-discovery, seeking to integrate with one's own Principle (Self, Soul, Numen) and Tradition. This process involves exploring themes such as the perennial Western Empire, Atavistic Resurgences, Heroic Spirit, and specific practices like Magia, Amatoria, Memoria, Imaginatio, and Insomnium. By examining these elements, The Magic Door offers a nuanced understanding of the Italic Hermetic Tradition, shedding light on its significance in the broader context of Western esotericism.
