Description

The Mabinogion A collection of prose tales written down in the 13th century, "The Mabinogion" draws on pre-Christian Celtic myth, folklore, and Welsh history to tell magical stories that reach back to the Iron Age. These twelve tales are set in both Wales and a dim otherworld, featuring a wide cast of characters who bring their dreamlike world to life. From schemes to kidnap a virgin to chieftains roaming foreign lands under spell, "The Mabinogion" is full of magicians, shape-shifters, witches, giants, dragons, and knights. The stories explore tales of Arthurian quests, revenge, and love, all set against the backdrop of a country struggling to preserve its independence. This edition is printed on premium acid-free paper and follows the translation of Lady Charlotte Guest.
