Description

The Loose Screw: The Shocking Truth About Our Prison System by Jim Dawkins Jim Dawkins' journey into the world of corrections began with a desire to serve his country, joining the Royal Green Jackets at just 16. However, it was his experiences within the prison system that left him disillusioned and ultimately led to his departure. Dawkins recounts his time in the Prison Service, where he encountered a culture of bullying and victimization among staff, which starkly contrasted with his own values of discipline and respect. His story is one of struggle to maintain integrity in the face of systemic flaws and institutionalised injustice. Through Dawkins' account, the harsh realities of life behind bars are laid bare, revealing a system that often prioritises punishment over rehabilitation. This unflinching examination of the prison system serves as a powerful critique of the status quo, shedding light on the need for reform.
