Description
The Knights Templar in Somerset explores life during the Templars' stay in the county from the thirteenth to fourteenth centuries. The book delves into struggles over land ownership and introduces lesser-known historical figures, including William de Marisco's struggle with the Templars and his claim to the English throne.
A carved wooden man's head discovered in a Somerset church is also examined, revealing controversy surrounding its discovery and potential connection to the Grand Master of the Order. Richly illustrated and compiled using original research, this book offers compelling insights into medieval history.
