Description
The Jews and the Reformation by Kenneth Austin This comprehensive account explores the complex attitudes towards Jews and Judaism during the European Reformation. Contrary to popular perceptions, Protestant and Catholic groups held diverse views on Jewish issues, which had significant implications for the Reformations' priorities. Martin Luther's writings are often cited as representative of Reformation attitudes, but a closer examination reveals a more nuanced picture. This book delves into the varied perspectives of Christian groups during this period, shedding light on their understanding of religious pluralism. By examining the interactions between Christianity and Judaism during the Reformation, Austin provides valuable insights into the historical context of these complex relationships.
