Description

A second-hand shipping container stands alone on a contested hilltop in the West Bank. Othniel Assis has installed his family here, amidst a mix of settlers and locals. As he navigates government agencies, more people arrive, including bankers, teachers, and kibbutzniks. A curious journalist soon discovers this outpost, drawing international attention. The settlement's growth is marked by diplomatic tensions and media scrutiny. The surrounding Palestinian village watches with wary eyes. This novel explores the complexities of life in a disputed territory, where families build new lives amidst uncertainty. Set against the backdrop of a contentious region, Assaf Gavron's satirical novel offers a thought-provoking commentary on the human experience.
