Description
The Green Window by Vincent O'Sullivan A collection of twenty-five short, pithy prose pieces from the late nineteenth-century writer, capturing the aesthetics of the Decadence movement with its emphasis on excess and transgression. First published in 1899, this book features enigmatic monologues accompanied by images, including Aubrey Beardsley's "The Litany of Mary Magdalen". Written by Vincent O'Sullivan, a key figure in the fin-de-siècle literary scene, this edition includes additional visual elements to enhance the reader's experience. Born into an Irish American family and later moving to London as a child, O'Sullivan spent much of his life in the demi-monde world that is reflected in his writing. This book provides a unique glimpse into the life and work of Vincent O'Sullivan, a writer whose circle included notable figures such as Oscar Wilde and Leonard Smithers.
