Description
Glenn Miller's life was shrouded in mystery until Pulitzer Prize nominee Hunton Downs uncovered a decades-old conspiracy. Through his military service and access to previously declassified documents, Downs reveals the truth about Miller's involvement with the US Psychological Warfare Division and his secret role as an envoy for Eisenhower. Miller's unique language skills - he spoke German - played a significant part in his work as a secret broadcaster to Germany, accompanying his music performances by his band. The subsequent cover-up is just as intriguing as Miller's secret life. Downs' 55-year search for the truth has finally shed light on this fascinating chapter of history. Downs' meticulous research and access to previously classified documents have pieced together the remarkable story of Glenn Miller's work behind enemy lines, challenging the long-held narrative about his death during World War II.
