Description
The Fourth Century tells the story of Mathieu Bäluse's quest to uncover the lost history of his country, Martinique. He turns to Papa Longouä, an old man with deep knowledge of the oral tradition and its connection to the land and nature. Papa Longouä shares a complex history between their families, tracing back to when their ancestors were brought as slaves to Martinique. The relationship between Mathieu Bäluse and Papa Longouä is deeply intertwined, reflecting the connections between their masters and descendants. As Papa Longouä conveys his story to Mathieu Bäluse, he becomes the last of his line, passing on this history to ensure its survival.
